Marks Park Sports Club on Judith Road, Emmarentia, is one of Johannesburg's oldest sports clubs, founded in 1938 and on its current site since 1951. Its main clubhouse was originally the Geldenhuys family farmhouse. Set on grounds with views of Johannesburg, the club has more than 16 sports sections and is a stone's throw from Emmarentia Dam, the Botanical Gardens, Melville Koppies and UJ.
Function Venues
- Pavilion Hall: 250 cinema, 220 banquet without a dance floor or 200 with one. It has a built-in stage and private bar overlooking the sports fields.
- Vumani Hall: 250 (without a dance floor), with a large balcony over the lawn. Self-catering with use of the kitchen and a private bar.
- Colonial Hall: 160, with a high ceiling, an open floor and its own bar. A movable wall joins it to the Sportsman's Bar.
- Sportsman's Bar: 70 cinema or 60 banquet, with a dedicated bar.
- Ladies Bar: up to 50 seated, with a private bar and access to the main deck.
- The Deck: 60 seated, a shaded outdoor extension of the main bar that can be hired exclusively.
Events Hosted
Corporate conferences, lectures, weddings and wedding receptions, meetings, birthdays, bridal and baby showers, luncheons and social events. In-house catering is available for most venues.

Fun Casino Evenings at Marks Park
Fun Casino Entertainment has entertained at Marks Park in 2026, at a 50th birthday for around 60 guests. The Pavilion Hall's stage and bar make it ideal for a full casino evening.
