About Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden
Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden is one of South Africa’s eight national botanical gardens, situated in Poortview, Roodepoort, on the western outskirts of Johannesburg. Administered by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), this 300-hectare garden is a treasured natural landmark, best known for its spectacular Witpoortjie waterfall and a resident pair of Verreaux’s eagles that have nested on the cliffs for decades.
